Annual Bluebonnet Bash held for students

On Wednesday, February 20, Calvary Episcopal School of Richmond rewarded students with their annual Bluebonnet Bash.  Activities included a pizza party, games, prizes, and a performance by magician Steve Burton including a live bunny and doves.

Each year CES rewards students in grades 3 through 5 who read a significant number of the twenty books nominated by the Texas Library Association for the Texas Bluebonnet Award.

Children who read or listen to five books are eligible to vote on the year’s winning title.  In the 2012 election this past month, 173,836 children across Texas cast their votes to elect Postcards from Camp by Simms Taback as the year’s Bluebonnet Award winner.
