Lake Olympia MS to host Empty Bowls event February 28

On Thursday, February 28, Lake Olympia Middle School’s (LOMS) Art Department will host an Empty Bowls soup meal event to support charitable agencies in their efforts to feed the hungry. The event will be held in the school’s Commons, 3100 Lake Olympia Parkway, Missouri City, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. A minimum $10 donation (cash or check) is requested. Additional donations are also welcome.

Those attending the LOMS Empty Bowls soup meal will receive a hand-crafted bowl designed by LOMS art students. Each bowl will be stamped with an official Empty Bowls insignia and will be a gift to the donor to serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community and the world. Participants will also dine together as a community family, sharing a meal of soups served in their bowl and breads provided by area restaurants.

If you are interested in attending this fundraising event, please RSVP by February 1 to Donna Pierce at or Rebecca Barkely at or by calling 281-634-3520.

Completed registration forms and a $10 minimum donation may be dropped off to the LOMS Art Department. Checks should be made out to Lake Olympia Middle School. (In the memo section, please write “Empty Bowls.”) All proceeds from the event will be donated to a local community agency dedicated to helping feed those less fortunate.
