Richmond woman faces charges after wreck

A single car accident sent two children and their mother to different hospitals in the wee hours of Saturday morning at 4:48 am. Nadine Garcia, 23, of Richmond, was driving her Jeep Grand Cherokee on US 90A/Jackson Street near Collins when she lost control and crashed into a concrete pillar said Richmond police spokesman Master Sgt. Lowell Neinast.
He also said that the investigation revealed that Garcia was traveling eastbound on Jackson when she crashed into the utility pole which resulted in one of her children being ejected from the car through the shattered windshield.
Neinast said, “Garcia’s three year old, was ejected through the front windshield of the vehicle. That baby was flown by Lifeflight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston and is expected to make a full recovery.” Ms. Garcia and her four year old child were taken across the street to Oak Bend Hospital emergency room where they were treated for their injuries. He said all are expected to make a full recovery.
Nadine Garcia was arrested and has been charged with Intoxication Assault, a Third Degree Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated with a Passenger less than 15 years of age, a State Jail Felony. After being treated for her injuries, Garcia was booked into the Fort Bend County jail. She was released early Monday morning on a $15,000 bond.
