A Fresno family fight ended with one brother shooting another. Daniel Rice, 25, of Fresno has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault/family violence after shooting his brother last Thursday evening.
According to Sheriff Nehls’ spokesman Bob Haenel, deputies responded to a shooting call in the 1700 block of Avenue A in Fresno about 8 p.m. When they arrived on the scene they discovered a 44-year-old man collapsed on the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Haenel said the victim was moved by Fort Bend Emergency Medical Services to a nearby location where he could be airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Haenel said, “Detectives learned that the two brothers began to argue and Daniel Rice shot his brother with a shotgun.” Rice was tracked to a residence in the 4400 block of Clover Street in Houston where he was arrested with assistance from the Houston Police Department.
Daniel Rice faces two Aggravated Assault charges and is being held without bond in the Fort Bend County Jail.
