Empty Bowls event to feed the hungry planned for Feb 28
Here’s a great photo opportunity that takes place this Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
Lake Olympia Middle School’s Art Department will host an “Empty Bowls” soup meal event, an international grassroots effort, created by The Imagine Render Group, in an effort to fight hunger.
The event will be held Thursday, February 28, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm,
Lake Olympia Middle School, 3100 Lake Olympia Parkway, Missouri City, to support charitable agencies in feeding the hungry.
A $10 donation (cash or check) is requested. Those attending the LOMS Empty Bowls soup meal will receive a hand-crafted bowl designed by LOMS art students. Each bowl will be stamped with an official Empty Bowls insignia and will be a gift to the donor to serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community and the world.
Participants will also dine together as a community family, sharing a meal of soups served in their bowl and breads provided by area restaurants. The proceeds from the event will be donated to an local community agency dedicated to feeding the hungry.
