Ribbon cutting March 6 for HCC Southwest Fine Arts Center

Houston Community College Southwest will dedicate the new Southwest Fine Arts Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, March 6 at 2 p.m. The unique arts space is located at 9910 Cash Road in Stafford.

The 36,000 square foot center features the renovated and repurposed “Old Building B,” one of the two buildings original to the HCC Southwest Stafford Campus. The multiuse facility will serve as a hub for art, drama and music performance. In addition to a spacious art gallery, the center houses a 75-seat theater, a 96-seat music recital hall and a total of 10 art and music studios.

HCC programs benefitting from the center include drawing, printmaking, design, painting, sculpture, metalworking, photography, ceramics and digital art. Additional resources include dressing rooms, costume and scene shops, and an electronic piano lab featuring 16 Yamaha Clavinova pianos.
