Simple: Stop the Frivolous Spending

The March 1st sequestration is upon us. If sequestration goes into effect, federal spending is cut only $85B, or 2.4%, a far cry from the propaganda we’ve been hearing.

Immediate further cuts are crucial. So what can we do to stop our out-of-control spending and get our credit rating back up?

For starters, Fisker Automotive—you know the green bailout—needs to return $530M before it’s sold to a Chinese company. Second, A123 Systems—the failed battery company—needs to return $250M or the buyer needs to pay it back to the taxpayers. Solyndra’s $500M free handout, Beacon Power’s $43M free handout and Ener 1’s $119M free handout all need to be returned.

We need to reduce Washington’s elected officials’ salaries by 30% and reduce their district offices to one during these financially challenging times. Unfunded goverment pension liabilities are now at a record high $761.5B—up $139B from last year. Lifetime pensions need to be denied—like in the real world.

We need to defund lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents—and now their wives and their children until the age of 16. Let’s grant a former president a year to settle into private life. After that, each president has been able to afford private security with speaking engagements, memoirs and, well, their inflated portfolio growth while serving in office…which is questionable at best.

And how about those corporate loopholes that we hear those greedy, rich Republicans taking advantage of? Facebook didn’t pay one cent in income tax in 2012 despite its $1.2B profits—and a tax credit of $429M. GE did not pay any income tax in 2010 despite its $14.2B profits.

We need to defund Samuel Betances’ $200,000 grossly offensive government indoctrination training sessions.

Americans cannot bail Detroit out of its eight-year $327M deficit crisis—or Chicago.

We need to defund the $156M/year that govt employees are spending on union activities.

The Dept of Education is not a federal issue and needs to be disbanded. The EPA needs to be reduced.

There’s a specific reason for Camp David. Use it.

And all the media could ask the president was did he beat Tiger Woods while Americans struggle at the gas pump? Remember Pelosi in 2008: “The price of oil is attributed to the two oil men in the White House”?

Enough is enough!
