Narcotics agents with the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force uncovered two marijuana growing operations in the Mission Bend subdivision, said Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel.
Haenel said, “During the past month, Task Force agents conducted an investigation of two related indoor marijuana grow operations at one residence located in the 7700 block Londres Drive and one in the 6900 block of Santa Rita Drive.”
He said that the investigation was initiated by two deputy sheriff’s that patrol that area of the county. He indicated that the officer’s heightened sense of awareness of the area they serve resulted in enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the two locations which resulted in the discovery of a sophisticated indoor marijuana operation consisting of three growing rooms in each residence.
A total of 234 marijuana plants were seized along with all the equipment necessary to run a grow operation with a distribution plan. Haenel said the street value of the marijuana was approximately $ 1,053,000.
Joseph Milton Rowland, 35, was arrested and booked on Possession of Marijuana (greater than 50 pounds, less than 2,000 pounds); a first degree felony. Rowland’s bond was $50,000.
