Stafford attorney achieves Board Certification
By Karen Daniels
Did you know that only 10% of Texas’ attorneys are board certified? With more than 70,000 licensed attorneys in our state, only 7,000 are board certified. Congratulations to Stafford attorney, Ronique Bastine Robinson, who is now part of this elite group.
By the age of nine Ms. Robinson knew she wanted to become a lawyer and follow in her father’s footsteps. “After being a lawyer for a few years, my passion grew for helping people and assisting those who I believed had been wronged. Fighting for families is something I’m very motivated about.”
Board Certification is offered in 21 specific areas of law. Robinson’s designation is in Family Law. In order to gain this distinction, a lawyer must be licensed for at least five years, devote required time to that specialty for three years, attend continuing education classes, achieve a successful evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges, and pass a six-hour written examination.
Robinson is a senior staff member at Bastine & Associates and plans to expand her practice. In addition to family law, she specializes in environmental and business litigation opportunities. She is also the Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Stafford. “The impact the certification will have is tremendous,” Robinson explained. “It says to the public at large that you can trust me, trust that I will constantly stay up to date on the law, trust that I will represent you zealously, and trust that I will always use the Family Law Code to your advantage.”
