University Branch Library to hold “Movie Day at the Library”

The University Branch Library’s “Movie Day at the Library” will take place on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Small Meeting Room of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.

Based on stories written by L. Frank Baum, this award-winning film classic stars Judy Garland as a girl named Dorothy who lives on a farm in Kansas. When a cyclone sweeps across the plains, Dorothy, her house, and her dog are picked up by the twister and transported to a magical land. Things are strange and beautiful in this new land, but Dorothy just wants to return home to Kansas. She begins a trek to the Emerald City to find a wizard who can help her. Along the way, she meets a scarecrow who needs a brain, a tin man who wants a heart, and a cowardly lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the wizard can help them before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up to them!

The suggested MPAA rating for this movie is G.The “Movie Day at the Library” is free and open to the public.
