LEAF offers a variety of scholarships for staff and students
Attending college is often an expensive experience, but local organizations are offering scholarship opportunities to take the sting out of writing that expensive tuition check.
The Lamar Educational Awards Foundation is awarding one-time $500 scholarship to three Lamar CISD paraprofessionals. Applicants must be a non-certified employee working toward a teaching certificate.
Lamar CISD employees who plan on working in the field of special education can apply for the Vogelsang Scholarship. Applicants for this one-time $500 scholarship must be either a non-certified Lamar CISD employee pursing an elementary or secondary teaching certificate with an endorsement in special education or a Lamar CISD special education teacher or speech assistant pursuing a master’s degree in special education, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy or educational diagnostician.
Also through L.E.A.F., four $500 scholarships for students planning on pursing a degree in the field of education are also available to one senior from each Lamar CISD high school.
Applications for all scholarships are available online at www.leafgrants.org
Completed applications must be received in the L.E.A.F. office no later than April 10. Call 832-223-0334 for more information.
