Wertheimer MS Hawks on Spring Break

Spring break is a time of relaxation that both staff and students are eagerly awaiting. Luckily for those of us at Wertheimer Middle School it is coming up soon. This is the time when boys and girls alike get to relax, enjoy the nice weather, and take a break from school!
In anticipation of this time, our school is having a “Spring into Spring Break” dress up day on March 6. On this day, our principal, Mrs. Nurre, has invited students to dress in a way that represents what they will be doing during their break. I look forward to see how everyone comes dressed! But to get some details of what my peers will be up, I interviewed some classmates.
Wertheimer student, Paige Sevy, revealed, “I guess I am going to Dallas with my family”. Jacob Tyrell will be spending the break with his family as well. He said “I just usually hang with my brother most of the time. Sometimes my cousins…come over.” Friend and classmate Ethan Sykes told me “[My family and me] usually just sit at home and have fun.” He also mentioned the possibility of taking a family vacation! I am also looking forward to a vacation away. My family has planned a trip to Galveston over Spring break. It seems that quality time with family is important to many students.
However, one doesn’t need to go far to have fun. It seems that there are a lot of things to do in right here in the Houston area. Some options include visiting Galveston Island, seeing the Houston Zoo, and exploring the Johnson Space Center.
Jacob is planning to attend one of the most popular attractions during this time of year. “[I will] probably go to the livestock show ‘n’ rodeo with my family,” he told me.
So, whether you are going on an exciting vacation or you plan to relax with your family at home this year, enjoy making memories!
