First United Methodist Church presents free concert

George and Elizabeth Cordes.

The Friends of the Arts committee, First United Methodist Church, Missouri City presents, in concert, George and Elizabeth Cordes.

Plush-toned bass-baritone George Cordes, whose  rich warm voice, has earned praise when featured in consecutive PBS’s Live from Lincoln Center telecasts as Angelotti in Tasca and Colline in La Boheme.

Elizabeth Cordes spent seven years with Tri-Cities Opera as an accompanist and coach and six seasons as an accompanist with the Ohio Light Opera. George and Elizabeth have been delighting audiences with recitals that feature, opera, Broadway, art song and American songbook favorites.

The public is invited to this free concert, although love donations will be graciously accepted.

The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Arts Committee and FUMC patrons, who are dedicated to offering a variety of quality fine arts to the church and community.

The concert will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. in the church Chapel of the Resurrection located at 3900 Lexington Blvd., Missouri City near the Lexington Blvd. and Murphy Road intersection.
