Libraries to celebrate El Dia de los Niños

Children of all ages are invited to bring their families to a special El Día de los Niños (Day of the Children) celebration on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of Fort Bend County Libraries’ First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.

Dancers from Guadalupe Ballet Folklórico Dance Group will entertain with traditional Mexican dance and music. Members of the Youth Services department will have snacks, drinks, and bilingual Story Time activities after the performance.

Also that day, the Missouri City Branch Library will celebrate with a Fiesta del Dia de los Ninos, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 1530 Texas Parkway. Families may enjoy face-painting, picture-frame decorating, and other family-friendly activities.

El Día de los Niños is a special day set aside to recognize the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Bring the whole family for an afternoon celebration of children and the Hispanic culture!

The programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the First Colony Branch Library at 281-238-2800, the Missouri City Branch Library at 281-238-2100, or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
