OMG! Inside Fort Bend

Next Thursday last day to register to vote in May

If you’re qualified to vote and not registered, next Thursday, April 11, is the last day to register to vote in the May 11 election.  This is no time for apathy, especially when it comes to local elections.  Decisions made by city, county, school boards, utility districts and others have an impact on the daily lives of those of us who live here.

Your vote makes a difference and when it comes to the kinds of decisions affecting you, think about transportation, mobility, education, the provision of water, and attracting jobs to the area to name of few.

Voter registration applications for new registrations or updates are available in Fort Bend County at all post offices, city halls, and libraries.  You may also visit the county’s website, fortbendcountytx.gov, and print the voter registration application for completion which must be signed and provided to the county’s Elections Administration Department in person or by mail.

The completed application must be returned or postmarked by the 30th day before any election intended for casting a vote.  Faxed applications, by the way, cannot be accepted.

Make a choice and cast your vote next month.  Your vote is your voice.
