“Art from the Heart “art sale April 20

Sartartia Middle School Art Department has raised over $10,000.00 in the past 8 years with the sale of art and functional folk art.  Mrs. Brenda Tomasello and Ms. Courtney Border- SMS art teachers – hunt for items that have the potential of being reworked by the student artists.

This year the students have created wonderful works of functional art fashioned from reclaimed and recyclable materials. The art works will include picture frames, foot stools, two dimensional decorative art works, and some small watercolors. The focus is on the value of recycling in a world of throw away items. Through these projects, the students use problem solving skills to rework and reuse: a valuable resource for the students to learn.

“Art from the Heaart” art sale will be held April 20, Sugar land Town Square, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The student art work will be sold and all proceeds will benefit charities throughout the community.

The event is always fun and a great way to give back to the community. The students have done some wonderful work, come and enjoy Fort Bend ISD visual artists!
