Stafford High School to hold first graduating ceremony at Constellation Field

By Karen Daniels

SMSD proudly announced at the April Board of Trustees meeting that on Thursday, June 6, Stafford High School will hold their graduation ceremony at Constellation Field. Assistant Superintendent Marva Rasberry said, “Stafford Municipal School District is looking forward to the history making event, as the Stafford High School Class of 2013 will be the first high school graduation class to host their commencement exercise at Constellation Field. We anticipate this will be an amazingly noteworthy event for the entire Stafford Community!”

Buses will collect the students from Stafford High School parking lot at 5:45pm and arrive at the field at approximately 6:10pm. Also exciting will be the use of the stadium’s jumbo-tron as each student’s picture will be featured as he or she receives their diploma.

Practice will be one day prior for the 216 graduating seniors. Hospitality rooms will be used for dignitaries and five-thousand seats are available for families to sit together as they cheer on their students.

As usual, there is no charge and parking is free. Constellation Field has made the requirement that no high heels are to be worn.

Flats or wedges only. Commencement begins at 7:00pm.
