The body dumped along US 59 in Rosenberg has been identified and the cause of death listed as homicide.

On April 16, 2013 about 10 a.m., Rosenberg police were notified of the body of a man along Hartledge Road right off US 59 southbound. According to Rosenberg Assistant Police Chief Dallis Warren, the man’s body was in the 300 block of Hartdlege in a field.

Initially police had no information about the man but have since learned his identity and are seeking the public’s help in putting a timeline together.

Warren said Investigators have identified the man as Vicente Manzano-Mendez, 44. He is a Mexican National from Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico said Warren. He went on to say, “There were no obvious signs at the scene that would reveal a cause of death; investigators learned from the autopsy results that the cause of death was ruled a homicide.” Warren said Mendez’s last known contact was on April 8 when he was in McAllen attempting to travel to Corsicana, Texas.

They are asking anyone who heard from Manzano-Mendez since that time to contact the Rosenberg police department at 832-595-3720; or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-(TIPS) 8477.
