Sweet Adelines Barbershop to perform at library

Cradle of Texas Chorus, Sweet Adelines

Enjoy the sweet sounds of the Cradle of Texas Chorus of Sweet Adelines International on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.

Directed by Holly Ritter, the Cradle of Texas Chorus is a women’s barbershop chorus. The group sings an exciting variety of unaccompanied barbershop-style a cappella songs in four-part harmony. The music includes special arrangements of today’s ballads, popular show tunes, and even jazz.

A member of Sweet Adelines International, the Cradle of Texas Chorus has been existence for more than 30 years. The group, which consists of women of all ages, formed in 1978 in Angleton, and eventually moved to Sugar Land.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2900 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
