Fort Bend sheriff’s investigators are looking for two people in connection with a grocery store robbery near Katy last week. “On Wednesday, April 24, a black male entered the Kroger store located at 1550 SH 99 (Grand Parkway between Falcon Point and Cinco Ranch) and demanded cash. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said the man entered the store then followed an employee into the store’s courtesy booth and demanded a money bag. However, he did not get any money and he left the store empty handed.
Haenel described the suspect as about 25 years old with facial hair. In a review of surveillance tapes the suspect can be seen in the parking lot getting out of a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep four-door.
He appears to walk into the store wearing a gray t-shirt and dark pants. Next the suspect can be seen leaving the store, returning to the SUV, changing his clothes then going back into the store wearing shorts and a dark-colored jacket with a gray-colored hood on his head.
According to Haenel, while the suspect was in the parking lot he could be seen talking to a woman. Authorities believe that the woman may know this suspect and they want to talk to her in an effort to get him identified. According to Haenel, she is a person of interest in the case. She was driving a light colored four-door passenger car.
