Three administrators named for Lamar CISD

Lamar CISD’s Board of Trustees approved the hiring of three administrators at the Board’s regular April meeting.
Laura Haugvoll is the new principal at Beasley Elementary. She is a graduate Sam Houston State University and received her master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.

Haugvoll has 20 years of experience in education, including 13 years of teaching experience including Fort Bend and Katy schools. She also has seven years of administrative experience as the Assistant Principal at Bowie Elementary, where she currently works.

Belynda Billings will be the Assistant Principal at Williams Elementary. She is a graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria and received her master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University.

Billings has 19 years of experience in education, including seven years of teaching in Lamar Consolidated and Wharton schools and 13 years of experience as an interventionist/facilitator in Sealy and Lamar Consolidated schools.

Billings is currently the Math Facilitator at Briscoe Junior High.

Dana Maresh will be the Assistant principal at Hutchison Elementary.

She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and received her master’s degree from Lamar University. Maresh has 15 years of experience in education, including 10 years of teaching experience in Lamar Consolidated, Needville and Bryan schools. She has five years of experience as a facilitator, all in Lamar Consolidated.

Maresh is currently serving as the Math Facilitator at Meyer Elementary. She was the 2011 Elementary Teacher of the Year in Lamar Consolidated.
