Three FBISD Destination Imagination Teams advance to Global Competition

Fort Bend ISD is proud to announce that three of its Destination Imagination (DI) teams have advanced to the DI Global Competition after earning top awards at the state tournament. The students were challenged to think on their feet, work as a team and devise original and creative solutions that met the requirements of specific challenges.

Ridge Point High School’s Quack Tape earned 2nd place in the “Project Outreach” challenge; Quail Valley Elementary School’s Zoo-Kinni Warriors placed 3rd in the “In the Zone” challenge; and Schiff Elementary School’s Beautiful Imagination Girls earned 4th place in the “Project Outreach” challenge.

The Global Finals will be held May 22-25 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Team members include:

• Ridge Point High School’s Quack Tape – Duff Dean, Katherine Goss, Zachary Keener, Ellise Perry, Cassidy Schulze, Joli Twa, Vince Vaughn, and Team Manager Hillary Schulze

• Quail Valley Elementary’s Zoo-Kinni Warriors – Luke Campbell, Jacob Enerio, Joshua Enerio, Kopeland Jones, Anthony Ramirez, Jacob Thomas, and Team Managers Hazel Dolar and Alan Thomas

• Schiff Elementary School’s Beautiful Imagination Girls – Victoria Castillo, Sydney Harris, Ella Jaasma, Chloe Jolivet; Victoria Smith, and Team Managers Amy Jaasma and Leah Smith

Special thanks goes to Philip Ranford, assistant principal at Highlands Elementary School, for coordinating the District’s Destination Imagination participation and serving as the DI Gulf Coast Regional Director; and FBISD’s Gifted and Talented and Academy Programs Department, led by Director Jeannette Spain, for sponsoring DI teams and hosting this year’s regional tournament.
