Lamar High School student wins $500 scholarship

1st Victoria Bank of Texas donated $500 to the Edmunds Foundation as a scholarship grant for Nanci Macias for completing the 1st annual Leadership Skills for Young Adults.

Nanci is a senior at Lamar Consolidated High School and opted to take this 7 week workshop to enhance her business and leadership skills. Nanci is majoring in accounting and will attend Wharton County Junior College this fall.

She wrote a comprehensive essay on the subjects she learned, like resume building, interviews, and dressing for the interview, financial planning and more. For her attendance and the essay she received $500.00 for her efforts. The Edmunds Foundation would like to thank all of the volunteers that made this program a success, as well as the Workforce Solutions for letting us use their facilities to host this program as well as all their supportive counselors.
