Youth cooking camps offered this summer

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fort Bend County will offer 2 youth cooking camps this summer. “Pantry2Plate” is for kids 8 – 12 years old.  Pantry2Plate is scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 18, 19 and 20, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm each day.

“Pantry2Plate” teaches basic cooking skills, healthy eating and physical activity.  One of the highlights planned for this year’s camp is Pizza Day where participants will prepare and enjoy a variety of pizzas. The camp will be held at the Extension Office at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg.  The cost is $30 per participant and limited to the first 15 paid participants.

Teen Chef Camp is for teens 13 – 16 years old and is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, June 26 and 27 from 9:30 am – 2;30 pm each day.  Teen chefs will prepare a tasty meal each day and will learn about label reading and grocery shopping.  One of the highlights planned for this year’s camp is Kitchen Chemistry – where the kitchen will be incorporated into science.  The camp will be held at the Extension Office at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg.  The cost is $40 per participant and limited to the first 10 paid participants.
