Mamie George Branch Library hosts free summer movie series

Fort Bend County Libraries will feature a free Summer Movie Series at the Mamie George Branch Library, 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford, beginning in June. A variety of animated family films will be shown.

The movie on Wednesday, June 12, is a full-length animated feature film from 1979 that combines comedy, drama, and sheer excitement into one grand movie-going experience for the whole family. Two mice, named Bernard and Bianca, are members of the world’s only international mice squad. The duo sets out to save a kidnapped orphan named Penny from the clutches of the villainous Madame Medusa, who needs the little girl to help find a priceless diamond. Alligators, swamp critters, and evil villains must be overcome in this spellbinding tale of treasures, escapes, near misses, and ultimately – rescues.

The movie is rated G. Showtime is 2:00 pm.

The special feature on Wednesday, June 26, is a 2010 animated feature film starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. Flynn Rider is the kingdom’s most wanted – and most charming – bandit. Showtime is 2:00 pm.

The movies are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information about the featured movies, call the branch library at 281-238-2880, or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
