Fort Bend Optimist Club Sugar Land hears guest speaker at meeting

Scout Master Alan Davis, Boy Scout Troop #1631, is pictured here with Roy Lawrence, President of the Ft. Bend Optimist Club.

The Ft. Bend Optimist Club heard Alan Davis as their guest speaker at their last monthly luncheon. Davis shared highlights about Troop 1631.

The Ft. Bend Optimist Club Sugar Land chartered Troop 1631 over 30 years ago and the troop  is still one of the largest and most active troops in the area. Troop #1631 has over 65 members. They left their footprints on the challenging trails of Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico which is a high adventure camp and one of the pinnacle challenges of scouting. This year they will be going to Bechtel Summit in West Virginia.

Each year the Boy Scouts of Troop #1631 participate in the Ft. Bend Optimist Club FUN RUN fundraiser on the first Sunday in November.

This year the FUN RUN/ WALK will take place on November 3,  at  Sugar Land Memorial Park,  at the corner of Commonwealth Blvd and University Blvd.
