By LeaAnne Klentzman

Three suspects have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault following an incident in the Richmond area. About 8:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of an aggravated assault in the 7100 block of South Mason Road at the Camden apartments near the Lakemont subdivision off FM 1093.

According to Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, the four suspects are men known to the victim; acquaintances. At some time during the interaction, one man pulled a gun on another. The gun did not fire; a melee ensued. The suspects fled the scene is a small white car, rearview mirror damage.

When deputies arrived on the scene they realized they knew the suspects, one had been involved in a similar incident the week before. So, knowing the parties involved deputies drove to the nearby residence of one of the men involved in the Lakemont subdivision. There the deputies found the suspect vehicle, occupied by three of the suspects along with a located a .25 caliber handgun.

The three men involved were arrested that were in the small white car. The men arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon have been identified as Ronnie Jones, 19, of the Richmond area; Asurubal Villa, 21, of Houston; and Jahfari Tracy, 18, of the Richmond area. Jones also faces charges of Possession of Marijuana (less than two ounces). The marijuana was found on Jones during his arrest. Villa also faces a charge of Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.

Haenel went on to say, “During the course of the investigation, detectives received a voluntary statement from Tracy that he was involved in a “deadly conduct” case the previous weekend.” That case remains under investigation.
