Missouri City’s El Dorado Bridge grand opening celebration tonight

El Dorado Bridge Grand Opening will be held Wednesday, June 19, 6 p.m. City residents, elected officials and bridge contractors will celebrate the completion of three bridge projects, which now further enhance mobility for pedestrians, bikers, motorists and golfers.

Those attending the celebration is asked to park in the lot of the City Centre at Quail Valley; 2880 La Quinta Dr. Walk up El Dorado Boulevard to the bridge; signs will be posted.

The El Dorado Bridge over Stafford Run, located at Quail Valley Golf Course, was completely reconstructed and the new platform features planter boxes, decorative lighting and pavers, providing a smooth golf cart ride for putters and a scenic walkway for residents and visitors.

And, a few miles away, contractors installed a hike/bike trail under the Cartwright Bridge at Oyster Creek to connect Phase 1 of Oyster Creek trail to Phase 2. The enhancement will provide a direct link for citizens and visitors exercising and enjoying the natural scenery of the area.

As part of the El Dorado Bridge overhaul, a temporary golf cart bridge was moved and installed to permanently replace the aging bridge between holes 1 and 2 on the El Dorado golf course.
