Mamie George Branch Library hosts free summer movies
Fort Bend County Libraries will feature a free Summer Movie Series at the Mamie George Branch Library, 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford, in July. A variety of animated family films will be shown.
The movie on Wednesday, July 10, is an animated feature film about a video-game villain named Ralph, who longs to be known as the good guy. In an attempt to win a medal proving that he truly is a good guy, Ralph jumps from one arcade game to another, looking for opportunities to be the hero. Ralph’s special skill, however, is wrecking things, and he inadvertently creates chaos wherever he goes. When Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade, his only hope is to team up with a young trouble-making glitch from a candy-coated cart-racing game who just might be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a good guy.
This film is rated PG. Showtime is 2:00 pm.
The special feature on Wednesday, July 24, is a 2012 animated comedy-adventure film. When a small town comes under siege by zombies, it calls on a misunderstood local boy named Norman, who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, Norman must take on ghosts and – worst of all – grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. This movie is rated PG. Showtime is 2:00 pm.
The movies are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information about the featured movies, call the branch library at 281-238-2880, or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
