Amalu Job, an 8th grade student at First Colony Middle School, was named winner of the “Healthy Hero Mascot” Contest, sponsored by Fort Bend ISD’s Child Nutrition Department (CND).

The contest was open to FBISD students in grades 1-8, who were asked to submit an original design of a healthy mascot that incorporated the use of fruits and vegetables. More than 700 entries were submitted, with 26 finalists being named.

As the contest winner, Amalu received a laptop computer and will have her mascot appear on CND promotional items, such as lunch menus.
