Beverly Carter Scholarship Fund established

Renowned newspaper publisher and journalist Beverly Karen Carter died at the age of 72 on Saturday, July 6th.The award-winning journalist was featured on 48 Hours and Nightline for her interesting, insightful and investigative views on Fort Bend County.  Most recently, she taped a segment for Discovery ID Behind Mansion Walls which is scheduled to air this fall.

The Beverly Carter Scholarship in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University was formed to honor Carter’s memory.  Carter’s son, Michael Fredrickson, is a Texas State University alumni and Carter’s granddaughter, Kathryn Kluge, is currently attending the university.
