Dead End

By LeaAnne Klentzman

So, we are here to tell ya’, there is a dead end around each corner in Sugar Land!

Monday, a man was driving from Houston to Sugar Land on US 59 when he happened to see his STOLEN car. Yep, there, traveling along with him. So, what’s a guy to do? He fell in behind his still STOLEN car and called the po-po. Seems the man’s car was stolen in Houston on the 1st and here he was… behind it headed to his town on the 8th. The man followed the car providing the po-po with driving directions until they all met up in the First Colony Mall parking lot.

Well, seems the surprise was on the po-po when the car thief wanted to play! He refused to stop, and we all know what follows that….

The parade traveled down Town Center Boulevard, north along Sweetwater Boulevard, under U.S. Highway 59 to First Colony Boulevard then into a residential area, where the driver turned onto a dead-end street. HE bolted from the car and hit a levy ending up in the Telfair area. Anticipating his moves, the po-po was waiting for him with open cuffs. All’s well that ends well….the 22 year old Sugar Land man driving the STOLEN car was arrested and charged with stealing the car and evading arrest.

Yes-sir-eee-bob, stealing a car then turning down a dead end street with a parade of po-po behind you…. Now that’s more than one dead end!
