SWAT situation occurred in Sugar Creek last week

The east Fort Bend County regional SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics)was called to a home in the 2200 block of Country Club in Sugar Creek last week when a man barricaded himself inside the home.

According to authorities, a sheriff’s deputy assigned to the Fugitive Warrants Division was trying to serve a warrant on a 50 year old man who was visiting at his parent’s home on Country Club. Sugar Land police spokesman Doug Adolph said although the man spends quite a bit of time at the Country Club home, he does not live there.

Reportedly, when the man saw the deputy get out of the car and approach the house, he bolted inside the home and refused to come out; knowing his current probation would likely be revoked. Unable to get the man out, the SWAT team was notified and responded. At about 4 p.m. that afternoon, the SWAT detonated a “flash-bang” device and forced entry. The incident was over and the man was arrested.
