Learn responsible pet ownership at library

Has your family been thinking about adopting a pet? Get tips on selecting and caring for the right pet for your family at a special program, “Responsible Pet Ownership,” at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Mamie George Branch Library on Thursday, August 15 beginning at 3:00 pm. The Mamie George Branch Library is located at 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford.

Animal Services Manager Kathryn Ketchum, from the City of Sugar Land, will give tips on determining the best pet for your family, providing basic pet care, and understanding the laws that protect animals. Learn about different types of pets and the type of care each requires. Ketchum will bring an assortment of animals that are examples of popular pets.

Ketchum, who has a degree in Zoology, has served as Animal Services Manager for the City of Sugar Land for the past five years, and has more than 25 years of experience working with animals.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2880.
