Sugar Land’s future Taekwondo Olympians
Giselle Giambi is 11 years old and will be attending Polly Ryan Middle School in Sugar Land this Fall. She is the 2013 Amateur Athletic Union (A.A.U.) National Taekwondo Champion as well as the 2012 A.A.U. Junior Olympic Taekwondo Champion for her age and weight division.
This summer Giselle trained 16+ hours per week to get ready for National competition. She has competed in 8+ tournaments from January 2013 to July 2013 ; Giselle is a 3 time National Champion and 2 time Junior Olympic Champion in taekwondo.
Giambi has been training in taekwondo since she was four years old; she started competing and won her first gold medal at the age of 5 years old. She has been a member of the Young Brothers Taekwondo G-Force competition team since 2009. Giselle trains at Young Brothers Taekwondo in Houston under her father Master Mark Giambi, 8th Dan and at Houston Center for Taekwondo under her older brother and Coach,Mr. Gianni Giambi, 3rd Dan.
By winning Nationals this year as an 11 year old, Giselle won a spot on the A.A.U. National Cadet Team. She will train and travel Internationally with the National team this Spring. Giselle has her sights set on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janiero, Brazil!
In addition, Giselle’s little brother Gianmarco Giambi, 8 years of age, also won first place at the 2013 Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Gianmarco is a 2 time National champion in taekwondo and the 2012 Junior Olympic champion for taekwondo. He has been a member of the G-Force competition team since 2010.
