To provide scholarships for Wharton County Junior College students, the college will host its inaugural invitational golf classic on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Wharton Country Club, with all proceeds benefitting the WCJC President’s Scholarship Fund. The four-player scramble will have separate 18-hole shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Teams are now forming with an entry fee of $300 per four-person team and $75 for individuals. The fee includes green fees, golf cart, lunch and a gift.
Awards will be presented to the first through third place winners and to the longest drive and closest to the pin recipients in the morning and afternoon rounds.
Sponsorship opportunities, ranging from $2,500 to $200, are also available for businesses and individuals. The $2500 title sponsor receives various recognitions and entry for three four-person teams. Hole sponsorship is $200.
