Another Subway store robbed in Sugar Land

By LeaAnne Klentzman

Over the weekend yet another Subway sandwich shop in Sugar Land was robbed by an armed gunman. Police were called to the Subway sandwich shop along the Southwest Freeway in the Riverpark Shopping Center Saturday night.

Sugar Land Police spokesman Doug Adolph said, “A man entered the store at 9:50 p.m., displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register and fled the store in an unknown direction”. Adolph described the suspect as black male, with light skin, short hair and a goatee. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a blue Nike sweater, white muscle shirt with red letters across the front, baggy blue jean shorts, tennis shoes and brown-framed women’s sunglasses.

Neither employee was physically assaulted, however the emotional trauma of the incident was too overwhelming and EMS was called to the scene.

When asked if this robbery could be linked to the others, he responded, “The circumstances are similar.”
