Fort Bend County Social Services selected low income families to receive a new pair of shoes for their children at three Payless Shoe Source stores in Sugar Land and Rosenberg.

Over 1,000 children can now “WALK WITH PRIDE” into their classrooms on the first day of school with a new pair of shoes. The Exchange Club of Sugar Land donated $500 to the project and volunteer members from the club along with The Exchange Club of Fort Bend and Living Waters Church helped children select appropriate school shoes and made sure they fit properly.

Exchange Clubs across the Nation sponsor activities to promote the Prevention of Child Abuse, Development of Youth, Americanism and Community Service. The Exchange Club of Sugar Land’s fundraiser “Spaghetti Dinner” provides over $100,000 yearly to local charities. For more information go to www.ecsl.org.
