First Colony Branch Library to host teen movie night

Fort Bend County Libraries will feature a free Teen Movie Night for teens in grades 6 and up at the First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, on Wednesday, September 4, beginning at 5:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.

The special feature is a recently-released film about a young teenager named Ethan who longs to escape from his small, conservative southern hometown to attend college. At the beginning of his junior year, Ethan meets Lena, who is new to the school, and he recognizes her from a recurring dream he has had. Although ostracized by the other students, who fear her mysterious family, Lena finds a friend in Ethan. The two teens discover a shared history between their families, beginning with a doomed love affair during the Civil War, which resulted in a curse on all the women of Lena’s family. As Lena approaches her 16th birthday, she and Ethan must find a way to break the curse before she and their love are lost to evil forces. This movie is rated PG-13.

The movie is free and open to the public. Those attending the movie are invited to bring a pillow or cushion. Refreshments will be available.

For more information about the featured movie, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
