St. Laurence cheerleaders receive top awards at NCA Camp

Shown are the St. Laurence cheerleaders.

The St. Laurence Catholic School cheerleaders attended the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) summer camp held at Sartartia Middle School in Sugar Land, Texas August 8-10.  Over 100 middle school cheerleaders attended from the surrounding areas.

Among the awards won by SLCS were NCA Performance Top Team 2013, Excellent and Superior Ribbons for Cheer & Chant, and Spirit Stick Winner.  All-American Individual nominees were Sophia Behar, Katy de la Mora, and Gabriella Doganieri.  SLCS’s school mascot, Leo the Lion was also awarded the NCA Best Mascot 2013.  Avery Byrne, Katy de la Mora, & Katherine Crocket were All-American Mascot nominees and also received Excellent and Superior Ribbons for their Mascot Evaluation.

The cheerleaders also won a National Championship Bid which allows them to compete in the National Championship held later in the year.
