The Rag-man cometh

By LeaAnne Klentzman

One Saturday night or so ago, Richmond police responded to a robbery at a local convenience store where the crook came through the front door tote’n a pistol with a rag on his head and a bandanna over his face. Think about that for a second – that is a visual! A 6 ft., 300 pound man wearing a collection of fabric swatches covering his head and face!

Anyway, the crook approached the counter where the clerk had barricaded himself inside the booth surrounding the register. Can’t you just see the clerk – thumbs in his ears, tongue stuck out – nanny, nanny, boo-boo you can’t get me…. Well, it didn’t really happen that way but suffices to say, the crook could not get to the clerk or his money.

Rag-man, he left empty handed. However, his collection of fabric swatches made a lasting impression on the clerk.

The crook was last seen walking through a nearby apartment complex, his rag disguise flapping in the night breeze.
