Falling Through the Cracks: Healthcare Today
Meeting to be held September 16
Those with aging parents, caregivers, those who will become caregivers in the near future, or those over 50 do not want to miss Joan Murray speak Sept. 16, during the Fort Bend Republican Women’s monthly meeting.
In 1988 Joan’s husband was diagnosed with end stage Renal Disease. Joan became his patient advocate and caregiver until his death in 1992. She was also a long distance caregiver and patient advocate for her mother after her mother became a resident of a senior living complex in 2002 until her death in 2010.
Due to her experiences, Murray started her company, Geriatric Connections, to communicate her first-hand knowledge of all the caregiver, patient advocate, Social Security, Medicare, other insurance and elder care needs to other family and friends, in hopes to divert many of the challenges that can happen.
“Falling Through the Cracks” is a program about resolution of the problems before they happen to you or your loved ones.
The public is invited to attend this free meeting. The Republican Women’s meeting will be held at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, 445 Commerce Green Blvd., Sugar Land, with the meet and greet beginning at 11:00 a.m. and program at 11:30 a.m. A light, complimentary lunch is provided.
