Missouri City Fire Department to host 2nd Annual Open House on Oct. 5

Missouri City’s Bravest are set to host their Second Annual Fire & Rescue Services Open House on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 3849 Cartwright Rd.The theme of this year’s fire prevention celebration will be “Kitchen Safety”.

Activities and demonstrations

• A Roof Rescue by the Fire Department’s Tactical Response Team; the exercise is scheduled for 11 a.m.

• A simulated smoke house to exhibit hazards associated with a typical home fire; firefighters will share effective evacuation techniques for families to practice

• Fire extinguisher training for adults; firefighter skills drills for children

• Exit Drills residents can practice at Home

• Tours of the firehouse and of a fire truck

“We are excited about continuing our commitment to provide fire protection and education programs to the community,” said Fire Chief Russell Sander. “Hundreds of residents and visitors joined us for our inaugural open house last year and we’re looking forward to a successful event this year, too.”
