More than 100 people recently attended a naming ceremony held at Wharton County Junior College to dedicate the Dr. Anna T. Harrison Dental Hygiene Clinic. Harrison was instrumental in helping the college to establish its dental hygiene program in 1969. She served as the sole faculty member for the program until 1973. Pictured at the event are members of the first graduating class of 1971, left to right, Rebecca (BeJo) Gadeke, Alice Manning, Mary Anne Harmer, Gwen Williams, Alice Faye Christopherson, Penny Amon, and at the far right Linda Turk Parks, the first dental hygiene instructor hired after Harrison.
