Former Stafford Firefighter Anne Sullivan Memorial fundraiser set for October 19

Anne Sullivan, a former Stafford firefighter, was employed with the Houston Fire Department at the time of her death.

On Saturday, October 19, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Simply Fit at 2444 South Main, Stafford, will host a Zumba-thon for all ages and genders as a fundraiser for The Anne Sullivan Firefighter Memorial Fund. It’s because of Anne’s dedication to serve our community that Simply Fit has joined with Anne’s mother, Mary Sullivan, in support of this effort to raise funds for Anne’s scholarship foundation.

The scholarship is listed on The Greater Houston Community Foundation website, www.ghcf.org. The scholarship fund focuses on assisting women who want to be first responders.

The Anne Sullivan Firefighter Memorial Fund is a very fitting tribute for the energetic young woman who lost her life while trying to protect the citizens by searching for any people they thought may have been trapped in the blazing hotel fire that occurred on the Southwest Freeway in Houston last May.

They are asking you to join them in supporting this foundation set up by her family to honor Anne and continue her legacy.

The cost is $10 to participate and children under 10 is  $5 in the 2-hour Zumba-thon.

All money raised will go directly to the Anne Sullivan Firefighter Memorial Fund.
