Free SAT practice tests offered at libraries

Representatives from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions will conduct free practice SAT-test sessions at two branches of Fort Bend County Libraries – the University Branch Library and the Missouri City Branch Library — on Saturday, October 12, from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm, in the Meeting Rooms of the libraries.

Students will take a full-length practice SAT test to gain experience and become better prepared for the actual test.

The SAT is used by U.S. colleges to determine admissions and to award scholarships and grants. The test is three hours and 45 minutes long, and consists of three sections – Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. Students should bring two #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator.

The sessions are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select the library, and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the libraries (University Branch: 281-633-5100; Missouri City Branch: 281-238-2100), or by visiting the library.

The University Branch Library is located at 14010 University Blvd on the UH campus in Sugar Land, and the Missouri City Branch Library is located at 1530 Texas Parkway.
