ELDORADO BRIDGE: With the new City Centre @ Quail Valley the idea surfaced that a “dramatic” entrance would help set the stage as people approached the Centre. The FUND HOA and PROUD Neighborhood Association met with the City and offered to fund beautification of the “standard bridge” the City planned for that location.

THE PLANS: The idea was to have planters (filled with colorful flowers), pavers and install decorative street lights on each side of the bridge. The City drew up plans and both organizations gave approval. It was thought that this idea would transform a “standard bridge” into one that had “elegant style”.

THE FINISHED PROJECT: On paper the added features looked good but nothing compared to the “real thing”. The color tied in and introduced the City Centre. Then at night, the light from the new street lights presented the bridge as a path leading into “a place of beauty and fantasy”.

FUTURE BRIDGES? The end result led the two organizations to determine that, in the future, when the need for a renovation or replacement of a bridge in the Quail Valley area, funding would be made available for beautification and special lighting effects.

GLENN LAKE STREET REPAIRS: “…..have been busy with street rehabilitations on 5th Street and Adams Street. A patch crew has taken care of several of the patched areas throughout the city, including Glenn lakes Lane. Efforts to “patch/repair” pavement throughout the city to keep streets in adequate condition will continue until resources are allocated to schedule “permanent” repairs…..
