QV Proud Hotline 10/16/13

WHAT ENTITY IS RESPONSIBLE? A HUGE thank you to Riverstone and Sienna who said YES to Missouri City Public Works. They installed the irrigation and landscaping on Highway 6 medians in Missouri City. The CIP team of MC Public Works Department, led by Valerie Marvin, worked with the adjacent developments involved.

MEDIAN MAINTENANCE? Riverstone and Sienna also maintain the landscaping in their respective areas. The areas that remain as grass are maintained by Missouri City Public Works Street Division.

THE END RESULT? This continues what Sugar Land started and softens a concrete landscape. Makes driving Hwy 6 MUCH more pleasant.

MISSOURI CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT achieved “Re-Recognized Status from the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) Law Enforcement Recognition Program.

HOW WAS THIS DETERMINED? The Recognition Program evaluates the Police Department’s compliance with over 165 Best Business Practices for Texas Law Enforcement Agencies.

“BEST PRACTICES “cover all aspects of law enforcement operations. This includes: use of force * protection of citizen rights * vehicle pursuits * property and evidence management * and patrol and investigative operations.

HOW DOES MCPD COMPARE WITH OTHER TEXAS AGENCIES? It is the 17th agency in Texas to “again” receive the coveted “Recognized Status:” award. Also MC is one of ”only” 81 agencies in the state to be so recognized.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO MC CITIZENS? Its Police Department is conforming to the most current law enforcement practices.
