Travis HS Theatrical Company presents “Over the River and Through the Woods” begins October 17

The Travis High School Theatrical Company will present “Over the River and Through the Woods” on October 17, 18, and 19, and on October 24, 25, and 26 at 7:00 pm in the Travis High School auditorium, 11111 Harlem Rd., Richmond.

Directed by Tommy Grubbs, “Over the River and Through the Woods” is a hilarious family comedy that tells the story of Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey whose parents have retired and moved to Florida.  Nick’s grandparents, however, are still in New Jersey and very much a part of his life.  He has Sunday dinner with them each week, and now he has some very big news to share with them.  Nick’s been offered a dream job in Seattle, which doesn’t go over too well with his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. The grandparents come up with several schemes to keep their grandson in town – including introducing him to a beautiful, single girl.

Tickets for the show will be $5 for students and $7 for adults.  For a unique dinner theatre experience, the company is catering an Italian meal and will have live entertainment during the dinner before the play begins.  The dinner will begin at 5:30 each evening of the production and costs $30 per person.  This will include the meal, dinner entertainment and a ticket to the show.

Reservations must be secured by Oct. 12 through the online form at or by contacting Elizabeth Willis at

Come enjoy a full Italian-themed dinner and show! Please contact the Travis High School Theatre Department at 281.634.7087 or email for more information.
