WCJC & UHSL schedule joint open house & advising night October 17
Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) and the University of Houston Sugar Land (UHSL) will hold a joint Open House and Advising Night on Thursday, October 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Susan Ryon Davis Multipurpose Room in Brazos Hall located at 14004 University Blvd. at U.S. Highway 59, Sugar Land. Prospective students can learn about the more than 60 Associate, Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral, and Certificate programs available.
“Attendees can choose from a variety of options for college information at the open house,” said Zina Carter, WCJC director of marketing and communications. “Both institutions will have instructors, admissions’ staff, and financial aid staff available to speak with guests.”
“Attendees can also learn how to make a smooth transition from WCJC to any of the component universities of the University of Houston System”, continued Carter. “Also, campus tours will be available to provide a first-hand look at both institutions.”
In addition to learning more about specific academic programs, prospective students can find out about required entrance exams and career counseling. Campus tours will be provided at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
“We encourage high school students and their parents, as well as working adults who want to receive more training in their field or who are thinking about a career change to attend the open house,” said Carter.
The event at the UHSL and WCJC campus is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Susan Ryon Davis Multipurpose Room in Brazos Hall.
